Giving money online would be an absolute dream come true for many people. If they could find a way to make money with a website or some other online company, they could quit their job to concentrate on entrepreneurship, spend more time with their family, and eventually take back control of their time and their lives.
Now, the good news. Many online sales methods aren’t complex at all. Like any business venture, it takes time to grow your online profits. You need to be willing to devote the time and energy needed to get your idea off the ground, and you need courage to stick with it even when you start your journey late.
#1: Google Adsense
If you have visited any of the websites, you have seen ads from Google. All over, and for good reason, these ads are. These are not only easy to set up on any specific website, but they can also be lucrative once the website begins to pull in a steady amount of traffic.
One of the cool stuff about Google AdSense is that setup is so simple. If you have a blog or website, you can sign up for a free account on Google AdSense. Google will give you a unique code from there, which you will paste into your website. Google takes it from there, recording in your name your page views, traffic and earnings.
How much do you want to do? I think my best month in the last ten years with Google AdSense has been almost $5,000. The awesome month blew my mind, as it was really close to the beginning of my blogging journey. If you go from making nothing in a month to $5,000, that’s going to rock the world. To me, because I knew there were other ways to monetize, it also made me more motivated.
#2: Affiliate Marketing
You can also look at affiliate marketing, whether you have a website or are still dreaming up ideas for a blog. You partner with brands and businesses with affiliate marketing within the content of your website. If you mention a product or service, use a special affiliate code that you got when you signed up for that specific affiliate program to connect to that product or service. From it.
In general, you’re going to want to partner with affiliates that are connected to your blog concept. I’ve focused a lot of my affiliate energy on financial products like savings accounts, credit cards, and investment accounts since I’m a financial advisor.
You can also sign up for an affiliate ad network that offers a ton of different affiliates in one place, in addition to signing up for individual affiliate programs. Thus you can see what works over time and what does not work.
Another way of getting money online is through consulting. If you are an expert in any area, you may find people who are willing to pay you to advise them on their personal or business objectives. You may think you’re not valuable enough to work with big firms, but you might be shocked at what kind of experience people will pay for.
#4: Online Courses
If you have any skill that you can teach others, you can also set up an online course that you can market online. Online courses can be found which teach anything from cooking to marketing or even freelance writing. Heck, I’m even offering my own course for financial advisors who want to take online their businesses— the Formula of Growth online advisor.
Most people use a platform such as Teachable.com to set up their online course. You can upload your course materials with Teachable and use the platform to manage clients and accept payments.
Another way to make money online is to host a podcast on-line. I’ve got the Good Financial Cents podcast to go along with my blog and I’m always using that forum to find new sponsors and advertisers.
I always remember getting my first podium sponsor and finding out they were willing to pay $8,000 for me to include a short clip for 90 days at the beginning of each episode. That was insanely exciting to me at the time since at first I wasn’t sure I could monetize my podcast that much.
#6: Book Sales
While the publishing industry used to be strong in print, these days you can complete the entire process of writing, publishing, and selling a book online. Websites such as Create Space would allow you to upload and print your book without having a formal publisher and you can even get your book on Amazon.com so that people can buy it there.
#7: Lead Sales
Another way online to make money is by taking leads. The key steps that you need to do to do lead sales work include setting up a website, bringing traffic to that website, and making sure that you are gathering leads that someone is actually paying for.
#8: Freelance Writing
If you have expertise in writing and creative talent, you can also get paid for creating online content. I’m not doing this as much as I used to, but I’m well aware of how important this revenue stream is.
One blogger I know, Ann Watson, in fact makes more than $200,000 a year to create content for other websites.
#9: Sponsored Posts
You can also make money by promoting sponsored posts and advertisements if you have a website or a large social media following. But, how is that working? Industries are basically willing to pay for blogs and social media influencers to promote their products and services. If you’ve got a forum that you can cash in, whether it’s a blog or a massive Instagram following.
Want additional ideas on how to make money online? Another strategy is to use webinars to bring your product, service or course to market. I have hosted webinars to encourage my practice in financial planning and participation in my online course for financial advisors. You’re essentially offering a lot of tips and advice for free with a webinar— usually in a live format. However, in the end, you are pitching your paid product or service with the objective of securing a few deals.
YouTube is another platform which has enabled people to earn money online. If you can think of any topic, there are a ton of YouTube channels out there, and most people with a big follower are earning some money in exchange for their videos and their time.
#12: Build an Online Community
Last but not least, by building an online community you can also earn money online, although the monetization strategies you can pursue will vary greatly depending on your goals. For example, you can build a community by blogging. You can also create an online forum, and charge membership for users. You could even create a Facebook group, and use your power to sell and promote products there.
